On July 15, cooperation protocols have been formally signed with the patrons of the Association Sara Carreira – Altice Portugal, Missão Continente, SIC and Banco Santander. These organisations embrace and share the same values of the Association, as well as the importance of social inclusion and young people’s education with the purpose of creating a positive impact on Portuguese society. The ceremony was attended by the President of Missão Continente, José Fortunato, the Executive President of Altice Portugal, Alexandre Fonseca, Francisco Pedro Balsemão, CEO of the Impresa group, Inês Oom de Sousa, Director of Banco Santander and the Board of the Association Sara Carreira, Fernanda Antunes, Tony Carreira, Mickael Carreira and David Carreira.
The support of the patrons is paramount for the viability of the Association’s mission for supporting children and young people with few resources in achieving their dreams, helping them in their development and aiding them along their education. The Association Sara Carreira undertook the commitment of awarding 21 scholarships still this year. The applications phase ended on June 30, totalling 453 applications, which are presently being assessed by a jury composed of three elements appointed by the Association’s Board of Directors. These scholarships shall be granted to children and young people residing and attending educational establishments based in Portugal, with a minimum age of 12 and a maximum of 21. The scholarship holders will be known by the end of September.
